Reviews

Review of the complete series: 'Throughout, Michael Farrell offers well sourced overviews of the conflicting and contradictory advice that is available to schools, suggests a variety of solutions to challenges, but never makes pronouncements of the action that schools should take. By taking this approach he empowers his readers to make their own choices through reflection upon the information he has delivered without bias or prejudice. In the introduction, the author sets out what he intends to do and then simply and effectively delivers it. He lays out all the pieces of the jigsaw, offers observation on the way the parts are viewed from a variety of angles and then provides practical advice regarding the likely success of their placement....Everything about these books appeals to me. They are well laid out, all the jargon is explained, a wide range of information is provided that is carefully referenced with lots of links to provide further information. There can be no doubt that these books would be of enormous value to all teachers, experienced or new entrants, across all phases. I recommend them without reservation. My congratulations to the author - these readable books will be a great asset to all schools. I am a complete fan!' - Carol Smart www.snip-newsletter.co.uk
