He has been featured in the East Bay Express, The Cannifornian, the Sacramento News and Review, Good Times Santa Cruz, The Stockton Record, the San Diego Jewish Journal, and News21. Collinsworth began working with cannabis in 1996 while attending UC Santa Cruz but only seriously focused his efforts in 2011. After contracting a rare disorder that nearly took his life, Collinsworth had to medically retire from teaching high school English, producing the biannual drama performances, and coaching the league-winning girls soccer team. He then founded Love Genetics and initiated innovative, specialized breeding programs designed specifically to combine high CBD and high THC cannabis genetics.
