Author Lazlo Ferran combines his imaginative mind and knowledge of 13th century European history to come up with this masterpiece of a novel. As soon as I started reading the book, my interest was heightened to such an extent that it was very difficult to stop turning its pages. Shifting between the present and past centuries can be difficult but, in this story, the transition is simply seamless. The Devil's Own Dice is peopled by highly interesting characters who are well rounded and realistic despite the fantastic nature of the story. The author's descriptive style is brilliant so that his novel brings the reader back to times when the world is populated by great knights, kings, ruthless assassins, witches and a shape shifting serpent. This is an entertaining and informative read! -- Maria Beltran for Readers' Favorite The author has a well-crafted story here to entertain a broad audience, be it battle scenes, medieval history, romance, the occult or adventure. I would surely call this a 'fully loaded' novel. A solid five stars for this masterpiece. -- 1DreamReader on Amazon Epic adventure with an unlikely hero. Book 2 of the series follows Jean Rezor on a wild chase through time to find his beloved wife, Rose. This tale involves supernatural creatures, time travel, and an epic battle between good and evil. Jean (who uses several other names) is conflicted, unsure about his own nature, but his family is from a long line of Ordo Lupus members, and he stands ready to fight the evil snakes that he alone can see. A little bit of what you fancy. can only do you good. First up, the paperwork. I got a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. Seeing as how its my name on the review, it's honest that you're going to get. This isn't War and Peace. It isn't Tess of the D' Urbervilles. It isn't like Dan Brown, Michael Crighton or Preston. It has its own voice and it's own idea's and they're good ones. It has an ageing hero, and medieval dungeons (sorry Lazlo I cant spell oubliette) and werewolves. Vampires are in there, and THEY DO NOT SPARKLE. At all. You wan't a story that ends with 'it was all a dream' then look elsewhere, no dreams here baby, except perhaps for broken ones. It's a good read, nice and fast and worth the price on the cover. If you're in the mood for a decent indie read give it a go. Or end up in the Oublette. -- Dean M Smith on Amazon The Da Vinci Code, step aside. Constant action with impossible to predict outcomes. The description of knights preparing and then engaging in a battle is the most realistic I have ever come across. He begins to have visions of being a werewolf in the fight against the serpents that took his wife, daughter and lover from him. Wait, don't werewolves kill humans? A very novel take on the werewolf myth. I truly enjoyed the final battle scene which was wonderfully written, and sets us up for similarly intense action for the third Volume; we will now have the good vs. evil battles fought in the Heavens here on Earth. Fantasy? Yes, but the key is that the author has been able to make it all very believable and plausible. -- Pedro Diaz on Amazon An Amazing Tale. Imagine if you can a Liam Neesom-type character on a mission to rescue his wife. Got the grim determined look, take no prisoners, never back down attitude in mind. A magickal element is part of the mix since a devious witch stole his wife. Then there are the machinations as elaborate and satisfying as any Dan Brown thriller. Add all that together and you have the second book of Ordo Lupus series, The Devil's Own Dice. -- Silver Wolf on Amazon Author Information"Lazlo Ferran: Exploring the Landscapes of Truth.
