OverviewToby Wilson is a misunderstood ten year old boy who is constantly being blamed for events that are not his fault. Toby has a younger sister, The Midget, who makes his life and his parents lives very difficult. The Midget has issues and in the speech of the specialists is 'on the spectrum'. Toby has the best of intentions, and he means to do things right, but his actions are often sabotaged by the influence of The Midget. This is a funny book about the difficulties of living with a sibling who dominates the family with her demanding behaviour. Toby just wants to get on with his life, he wants to be the same as everyone else at his school, but he is the only one who has The Midget at home to deal with. This is a book written particularly for children who have siblings with special needs, where one child might dominate the family and the other children have to arrange their lives around the needs of their brother or sister. The humour in this book is universal and would be appreciated by all ages from children through to adults, but the book is specifically written for children in the 9-12 year age group.
