This is a useful companion for rudimentary communication in, as well as translation from and into the relevant languages. It covers selected fields of general interest which is also suitable for primary education. Its size and scope confine its application to elementary practical speech situations which makes it especially convenient or the layman who wishes to acquaint himself with any of the three languages (English/Afrikaans/Zulu). This means that specialised grammatical knowledge is not a prerequisite for using the dictionary. Zulu is a tone language and its structure is very different to Western languages. This dictionary explains how words are formed in the Zulu language and explains the languages.
