OverviewAmericans are familiar with behavior health counseling in hospital and partial hospital settings, rehabilitation counseling and outpatient counseling, which focuses on assisting a patient [client, consumer] to resolve mental health, substance disorder, and relationship issues. This type of counseling focuses on helping the client to regain self-esteem and productive, which was lost during the mental health or relationship issues. However, for some people living in dysfunctional families and/or other relationships, they may have developed some dysregulations, which includes but not limited to missed blocks of socialization with the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of life. Therefore, the mental health community needs to develop habitation therapy to assist the consumer in replacing the missed blocks of socialization. It is hoped that The Client Manual for Habitation Therapy is the first step for learning to apply basic socialization principles to grow out of the dysfunction and dysregulation. The material is based on Holistic principles in Genesis 1:1 - 2:25. Mental Health Therapist will have individual and group sessions to give information for growth and development. It will be supplemented by this manual under the leadership of a mentor (child caregiver) between therapy sessions.
