OverviewThe book is primarily educational but is entertaining as well. Facts are included about each bird Grandma and Hannah happen upon but their story relationship and personalities are woven in as they journey through Grandma's neighbourhood observing, meeting and greeting birds and enjoying each others companionship. On its face the book is about Ornithology (the study of birds) for toddlers/pre-schoolers and elementary grade students. The back story tells of the important part Grandmas (grandparents) play in the developmental and social aspect of their grandchild's upbringing. The story further attempts to smash gender and age stereotypes through Grandma's playful, physical interaction with Hannah throughout the story. This book is relatable to all genders and all ages. Enjoy the adventure!
