OverviewImagine your parents woke you, a ten-year-old girl, up in the middle of the night and put you on a plane to a place you have never been before... alone with your fourteen-year-old brother. Little did she know, her childhood would be filled with abandonment and neglect from chain-smoking, bourbon-drinking parents. In her heartbreaking memoir, THE BIG LIFE, Diana shares her dark childhood secrets; running from the FBI, poverty, an alcoholic mother, and dealing with the disappointment of being an invisible child trapped in an abusive home with dysfunctional, irresponsible parents. Through homelessness, danger, abandonment, and utterly devastating circumstances, she finds the sheer determination and resilience to survive and thrive. She adapts and sustains with an unbreakable spirit of faith and hope, while deciding her life's choices. Narrated in a fascinating mix of humorous, uplifting, and heartbreaking candor, THE BIG LIFE, is a triumphant memoir about the choices we all have in life, along with the resilience of the human race and a fierce determination to survive. Diana's story is a life-changing message of hope, showing we all have a choice in life: to become a product of the circumstances we cannot control, or to rise above them while enduring them, coming out better in the end.
