Overview

It was a surprise to discover that the Berbers were mentioned so extensively in the Bible. In all, more than twenty texts speak of Berbers, both in the Old Testament and in the New. In the Bible, several Berbers were mentioned, some with their origins. This is the case of Simon of Cyrene, who carried the cross of Jesus, and Lucius of Cyrene who was the first bishop of Antioch, where Saint Paul was formed by Barnabas, of Chachnaq (Sheshonq) who was Pharaoh of Egypt, although Berber and which had plundered the palace and the temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. But also, Tertullian, Cyprian and Augustine, theologians and founders of Western Latin Christianity. Apuleius of Madauros, philosopher and writer, Gelasius, Victor I and Miltiades who were popes of Rome, Septimius Severus, Caracalla and Macrinus, who were Roman emperors. We can also talk about Ramses II and Chachnaq, the pharaohs of Egypt who marked the history of civilization, and so many others. By browsing these texts, it became possible for us to discover surprising things about the Amazigh people. Its history, its future, its character and its personality. By questioning the biblical texts and applying the appropriate methods of interpretation, treasures are revealed to us by biblical writers: apostles, prophets, evangelists, ...
