'A sense of wonder permeates every page in this book. It nudges, explains, explores why things happen in classes, and presents stories about the psychology of thinking. Mallard has an engaging style based on so many fascinating research studies and I had so many Aha! moments.' Professor John Hattie, Emeritus Laureate Professor, Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne 'Readers will benefit from this example of how an experienced practitioner is able to combine a wealth of classroom experience with a depth of understanding from their study of economics. An engaging, entertaining and well-informed book on pedagogy that merits a place on every educationalist's bookshelves.' Vivienne Baumfield, Professor of Professional Learning, University of Exeter 'A perfect balance between insightful behavioural theory and practical strategies for the classroom, Mallard's accessible style will prove welcome for any open-minded teacher looking to make their learning environment just that little bit special. A step on the road to the truly inspirational classroom we always seek!' Dr Alex Peterken, Headmaster, Charterhouse School
