The author somehow managed to make a book about parenting not only informative but fun to read. I love how she reminded us the importance of self-care while acknowledging that our children always comes first. She gave a lot of helpful parenting tips. I recommend this book to ALL parents. Parenting is hard work but the author reminds us it is so worth it!!! - Amazon Review There is an art to parenting that is not taught in any educational setting. I used to say that children should come with an owner's manual and now they do. I really enjoyed The Art of Parenting book and workbook because they were easy to read and written in plain English that I can understand. I also liked the learning about the attachment styles and how this contributes to my relationship I have with my children. I highly recommend this book and the workbook to any parent who may be struggling to connect with their child or who may just want confirmation that parenting is tough. -Amazon Review I feel that many parenting books only address the child and how to manage the child. I've been looking for a book on how to be a better parent and person for my baby. The Art of Parenting is well written and easy to follow. It explains different parenting styles, why people parent the way they do and how best to correct harmful patterns in parenting. If you want to learn how to work on yourself and be the best you can be for your child this is the one you'll want to read! - Amazon Review I learned so much from this book! I really enjoyed reading about the importance of respect between co-parents and for their children. The author's years of experience as a licensed Marriage and Family therapist (and a mom!) clearly show through her ability to describe in depth each of the parts of wholistic parenting. She describes how children experience emotions which allows a parent to approach their children's outbursts with empathy and how to be a respond in a controlled and helpful way. I recommend this book to all parents, and I think it will help a lot of people grow as parents. -Amazon Review I really enjoyed this book. As a new parent, I was looking for advice on how I could improve upon my relationship with my son. This book offered me what I was looking for. Without getting bogged down in theory or academia, the author provided a holistic view of parenting that allowed me to improve upon my own approach to dealing with my child as opposed to dictating how to parent. It was also easy to read, which I appreciated as I read all day for a living. Strongly recommend. -Amazon Review I'm half way through the book and I must say that I'm enjoying this book a lot. The author is very engaging and humorous. I also like that a parenting book is written by a Marriage and Family Therapist who has the training and education in this field, but I appreciate that she is also a parent who has firsthand experience with the day to day struggle of being a parent; this lends a lot of credibility to the book. I also like that she doesn't glamorize parenting and doesn't make you feel horrible about mistakes we make as parents and sometime just down right despising being a parent. She also reminds me why I became a parent and how rewarding it can be when you learn the skills to improve your relationship with your child. The author provide brief and simple theoretical underpinnings then provides simple skills that any parent should be able to apply. I would highly recommend this book. -Amazon Review Author InformationKrystal Dreisbach is a licensed marriage and family therapist, international author, and life coach.
