OverviewThe book, The Apoi-Ijo People, traces the history of the Apoi-Ijo of Ondo State of Nigeria from the Central Delta to Apoi Creek in Bayelsa before their migration to Ukomu and finally to Apaka. From Apaka, the Apoi-Ijo people dispersed to found nine towns and other satellite villages. The nine settlements are: Igbotu, Ojuala, Shabomi, Oboro, Inikorogha, Igbobini, Kiribo, Igbekebo and Ipoke. The treatise also analyses the various claims of traditions of Ile-Ife, Benin and Egypt as the origin of the Ijo people. Thus, the book serves as the authors' contributions to the wealth of knowledge on African history, with emphasis on Ijo history, and by extension, the history of the Apoi-Ijo People.
