OverviewThe APAC method as an alternative for the resocialisation of convicts aims to present the process of serving sentences, based on the reinsertion and valorisation of the convict. Initially, an analysis is made of human rights and their historical construction, as well as the functioning of the criminal process and criminal execution. The methods of sentence fulfilment are presented, and finally the APAC method, its emergence, principles and the results achieved. The study is carried out using the deductive method, accompanied by bibliographical research and national legislation. The APAC model is presented as a way of helping to solve various problems found in the common prison system, such as overcrowding, lack of infrastructure, the high number of recidivism, lack of psychological and health assistance, abandonment by family and friends, among other problems found in the prison systems adopted today, making it difficult for convicts to reintegrate into society. In this way, the APAC method is presented, demonstrating its effectiveness in re-socialising and humanising the convict, with the help of volunteers from the community where the convict lives.
