"Fredi, a sax-playing frog, finds that she has a broken reed on her instrument's mouthpiece. One by one, she seeks out her band members to learn how sound and vibration work in each of their instruments. The book prominently features multicultural community, friendship, and music. This interdisciplinary book can be used in subjects as in science, social studies and reading. At the end of the book, readers will find instruction for dancing the Cha Cha, as well as crossword puzzle and word finder games. "New York City author, educator, saxophonist, band leader and composer Marsha Heydt proudly presents her first children's book, ""The Adventures of Fredi and her Lily Pad Band."" Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and raised on a farm in Berks County, Marsha earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
