Overview

Published by CUSTOM BOOK PUBLICATIONS THAT CHRISTMAS 1941 MORN ... In Germany, a bullet renders Rachel, now Jewish Yohann's wife, barren. When Dirk learns that his wife Delilah's Nazi father is responsible, he is penitent. The ability to recompense the family arrives in 1929. In a magnanimous gesture, Dirk and Delilah bestow Dolb and Donter, one each of two sets of twins born to them, to Yohann and Rachel - to be brought up by them as their own children. On Christmas 1941 morning, when Delilah's brother, a Nazi soldier, attempts to kill the Jews - including her flesh and blood, Dolb and Donter. She shoots first. The families flee, setting the scene for retribution, reprisal, rape and murder ...thirteen years later!

Author Information

GEORGE THAKUR Born in 1936 and educated in British India, the Author obtained a Bachelor of Arts with English as his major, before working with a chain of hotels and motels in India and Europe. His interest in World War II, and especially in Adolf Hitler, - a failed painter and a mere ex-soldier who ascended to Chancellor a proud nation - commenced around 1960. Then able to access relevant works, he studied the German language and culture, and read of the atrocities Hitler perpetrated upon innocent Jews, the Gypsies, and homosexuals. In 1983, he immigrated to Australia where his interest in writing resulted in articles on cultural events being published in a national newspaper. Short stories followed, culminating his first novel. That Christmas 1941 Morn is his second work.
