Overview

Tell Me About the Hard Part of running your business... As a business leader or 'solopreneur, ' this simple prompting may lead your mind down a long list of challenges such as hiring, firing, establishing worthwhile collaborations, and gaining access to funding. While no two problems are the same, there is a proven way to approach them. After ten years as a business attorney and owner of SJS Law Firm, Shavon J. Smith noticed a pattern: her clients often come to her when their problems are already out of hand. Whether caused by denial, overwhelm, or total system breakdown, runaway problems can be disastrous to a small business. Tell Me About the Hard Part will teach you how to face, solve, and prevent problems through a five-step process that can be applied to any enterprise. Learn to 1. Face 2. Diagnose 3. Quantify 4. Treat, and 5. Prevent problems. This book is for new and seasoned business owners who desire to overcome challenges, prevent money-draining oversights, and establish successful systems to keep business operations running smoothly. Upon learning the ins and outs of this five step process, you will save yourself time, agony, and expensive consulting fees as you scale your company. Prevent overwhelm and be empowered to face problems head-on. Shavon J. Smith, Esq. is the founding partner of The SJS Law Firm, serving as fractional general counsel to businesses in Washington D.C. and Maryland. As an attorney and advisor for nearly two decades-both at a large corporate firm and in her own practice-Shavon understands her job is part-corpus juris and part-psychological. She is committed to helping entrepreneurs create the organizational infrastructure to face, solve, and prevent problems, which will ultimately lead to stronger businesses and more resilient communities.
