OverviewMany of Bundy's young female victims considered him beautiful and charismatic, qualities he used to gain their trust. He usually approached them in public places, pretending to be injured or disabled, or posing as an authority figure, before dominating and assaulting them in isolated places. He sometimes revisited his secondary crime scenes, grooming himself and performing sexual acts with decaying corpses until putrefaction and destruction by wild animals made any further interaction impossible. He beheaded at least 12 victims and kept some of the cut heads as souvenirs in his apartment. On a few occasions, he broke into homes at night and bludgeoned his victims while they slept.
