Overview

Patrick H. ( Pat ) Clancy, the youngest of six Irish-American boys, sons of a New York City Fire Captain and a homemaker, is an active church member. Mr. Clancy is a member of the board of Transformation Life Center, a faith-based drug-rehab in nearby West Park, where he also tutors for the GED. Mr. Clancy is a Gideon; as such, he is interested in the salvation of Dutchess County. Mr. Clancy was saved at the age of nine under the evangelistic preaching of Uncle Winn Ruelke at a Christian Endeavor rally; he rededicated his life to Christ at Madison Square Garden at the age of 16, during the 1957 New York Billy Graham Crusade. This experience prepared him for the mental illness of his mother and the murder of his father. During his career as a high school biology teacher, Mr. Clancy taught at five New York City schools. His 30-year career ended with retirement at Daytop Village, Far Rockaway, where he taught in an alternative school program of the City of New York. During his marriage to Estelle, he fathered four beautiful children, two boys and two girls, three of whom graduated from military academies. The fourth child preferred to start a family and home schools her five children in central Pennsylvania. Mr. Clancy has eight grandchildren, and two on the way. His theology is that of an evangelical Christian. As such, he believes in the theory of the Big Bang: The Lord spoke and BANG - there it was!
