Overview

It is the last day of the summer holiday. Do you know that sinking feeling you get? That feeling you experience the night before the September term starts. You are awake, you can't sleep. You stare forlornly at the ceiling, thinking about what tomorrow will bring. The summer holiday is over. The time you spent thinking about work was not productive. You simply didn't know where to begin. The result? Nothing has been done. You are not prepared for the first week of the new term. Are you an experienced teacher working in the secondary school sector? Are you working towards obtaining your PGCE? Perhaps you are an NQT? Alternatively, are you engaged with the School Direct or Teach First programmes? If so, this book will certainly be of value to you. The aim is to help teachers understand what it takes to be truly organised. Not just being organised for the start of the new September term, but remaining organised for the weeks and months that follow. Using my own experiences from the last decade, I lay out in simple terms what any new or experienced teacher should consider. Hari Indran has worked as a Computing and ICT teacher in UK Secondary schools over the last ten years, whilst also holding a number of different positions: ICT Co-Ordinator, exam board moderator, school based PGCE mentor, and teacher trainer at the Institute of Education (University of London). Whilst working within teacher training, he completed his Master's degree (ICT in Education). Once dubbed 'the master planner' by a respected colleague, Hari takes great pride in planning and organisation, whilst being prepared for any eventuality. He firmly believes that being organised from day one is the only way to survive in the teaching profession!
