Author Information

The author lives and trains California. Len has earned 5th Dan Black Belts in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do and 3rd Dan Black Belt in Soo bahk. Len has been training in martial arts since he joined his first Tae Kwon Do class after graduating college and began teaching martial arts after earning a Cho Dan (1st degree) Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do after 8 years of training and testing. Len has been using aspects of martial arts in his own life for more than 20 years to bring order, understanding and self-awareness. Len augments his martial arts with meditation, strength-based weight training, boxing training in speed bag, heavy bag and long distance running. Len has written and has published both magazine articles and books extensively; writing and publishing more than 20 articles and editorials related to martial arts for several martial arts magazines including the prestigious World of Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do Times, Black Belt and Mudo Dojang. Many of Len's articles illustrate the lost history and evolution of Korean martial arts. For this reason, Len's articles are often republished around the world because of their excellent historical content, unavailable otherwise. Len's magazine articles also appear on many martial arts web sites in the United States and around the world. One of Len's books for Children received the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. Len currently has more than 25 years of martial arts experience in three different styles. Academically, Len has earned a B.S. degree in Physics and Mathematics, an M.S. degree and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. degree in Education. Len has worked professionally as a Teacher, Physicist, Astrophysicist, Nuclear Physicist, a Mechanical Engineer and an Electrical Engineer designing digital and RF communications systems and spacecraft for NASA and U.S. Air Force. Some of the author's satellites he designed include the Boeing/Air Force's GPS constellation of satellites. The author was responsible for the GPS program winning funding by the Pentagon. The author is also responsible for the design and test of NASA's GOES-Next geostationary weather and space science satellites, NASA's Extreme Ultra-Violet Explorer Low earth orbiting space science satellite, NASA's International Space Station and NASA's Space Shuttles for launching GPS satellites 4 at a time.. He also worked as an executive at several computer, telecommunications and aerospace and defense companies.
