Comprised of 180 classroom student exercises, Take Five! for Language Arts by Kaye Hagler (an educational consultant who mentors teachers throughout the Southeast) is specifically designed to help teachers transform those first chaotic five minutes of class into authentic learning experience. With Take Five! for Language Arts as a curriculum resource, students will exercise their mental muscles and sharpen language arts skills as they tackle Common Core Standard-based lessons and fun-filled activities.-- Midwest Book Review/Library Bookwatch, the Education Shelf You can easily have students from various grade levels work on these tasks--even students below sixth grade level on many of them. You can use the book for an entire school year, or use it occasionally over a few years. Take 5! might be a great resource to use in the winter months when school sometimes seems to drag everyone down. While average and bright students might well appreciate the opportunities to be creative and have some fun, you might also find these activities a helpful stimulus for the unmotivated student.-- Cathy Duffy Reviews
