Fuller Torrey, M.D. is a clinical and reserach psychiatrist specializing in schizophrenia. He has served as a special assistant to the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health and is the author and editor of fifteen books, including The Roots of Treason: Ezra Pound and the Secret of St. Elizabeth’s, which was nominated by the National Books Critics Circle as one of the five best biographies of 1983.
