Author Information

"Gary W. Abbamont received his B.A. degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and his M.A. degree in the administration of education programs from Columbia University's Teacher's College in New York. Since 1973, he has been a teacher of both social studies and language arts at Crossroads Middle School in South Brunswick Township, NJ. He has also been chairperson of the language arts department since 1984. In 1987, Mr. Abbamont was awarded ""Outstanding Educator"" in New Jersey's Teacher Recognition Program. Antoinette Brescher holds a B.A. degree in elementary education and an M.A. degree in reading from Kean College in New Jersey. She currently teaches science in grades 3-6 at the Gill/St. Bernards School in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Ms. Brescher was the reading consultant and contributing writer for the Silver Burdett & Ginn Elementary Science series."
