For a decade Rabbi Gary M. Spero led Congregation Beth Torah of Torrance, an independent Conservative synagogue. A practicing federal maritime administrative law attorney, Rabbi Spero has authored numerous books: Resurrection Through Memory & Deeds; Tashlich - a History of the Ritual and Sample Ceremony; Chanukah & Christmas, Passover & Easter, A Guide For Interfaith & Blended Families With Children. Rabbi Spero has a B.A. from Yeshiva University of Los Angeles with an emphasis on ancient Hebrew & Aramaic sacred texts; and a Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from Whittier College School of Law.
