Reviews

Books abound on Spurgeon, so some may wonder if anything new may be said. Rod Earls has provided the church with an important study on the man's beliefs and leadership skills that resulted in disciples made, leaders developed, and churches planted. At a time when evangelicals are asking questions about the multiplication of disciples, leaders, and churches, this book arrives at a timely moment! --J. D. Payne, Samford University Rod Earls is opening up a whole different perspective on Spurgeon and his impact in ways that most pastors don't have a clue about. Spurgeon, the church planting pastor! He may have been the prince of preachers, but he was also an apostle for global church planting. Read this and learn. Incredibly relevant for today. --Bob Roberts, founder, Glocal.net This book is a culmination of years of research and experience that will inform students of Spurgeon's life and ministry as well as guide young Christians as they begin their journey and seek to leave a legacy of faithful service. --Rodney A. Harrison, president, Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries 'Have you won souls for Jesus?' Since the church began, it remains the crucial question--one we must answer in the affirmative. From brand new believer to lifelong Christian, the life and ministry of C. H. Spurgeon inspires and challenges us to personally win people to Christ--providing a template to teach, train, and turn loose others to do the same. --Jesse Haney, pastor of Oasis of Hope Church Rod Earls has researched and written about the story of Spurgeon what we were privileged to see take place in Guatemala. God led us to plant the gospel in the hearts of the Kekchi Indian people, discipling them to be missionaries. A dramatic movement of multiplication of disciples and churches occurred. In like manner, these principles and applications from Spurgeon are practical and effective because they come from the Savior and Scripture. Read and be inspired! --Ted Lindwall, president, Church on the March
