He has been a school teacher, teacher trainer and education officer, and has held posts in five universities. He is Professor of Educational Leadership at St Mary's University College, Twickenham. John is the author or editor of 23 books and he has worked in 21 countries. Vanessa Huws Jones is currently a School Improvement Adviser for North Yorkshire Local Authority, having previously enjoyed nine challenging and rewarding years as a primary headteacher. She is a tutor on the National Professional Qualification for Headship programme. She supports school leadership teams through the National Strategies Consultant Leaders programme. She also coaches on the National College Leading from the Middle programme. She is an Ofsted Inspector and was recently invited to participate on the pilot Executive Leadership programme.
