Author Information

S. Alexandrial Russell served in the United States Air Force from 1987-1991 and was discharged after Desert Storm in 1991 in retaliation for formally complaining about sexual harassment/assault involving her supervisors. One the investigation was concluded, all the female airman who cooperated with the investigation were given Bad Conduct Discharges for minor infractions. Eventually Sonya's discharge was upgraded after she fought through the Military Discharge Review process in Washington D.C. and was reinstated as an Honorably Discharged Veteran in 1992. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Cleveland State University in 1994, a Juris Doctorate of Laws from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 2014. Sonya practiced law for over 10 years as a criminal, divorce and business attorney before starting a government consulting firm in 2016. Sonya has worked most of her adult life in some capacity advocating for the rights of others and has been active both politically and with various social organizations. Sonya has taken time off to focus on herself through her writing and learn how to better manage PTSD and stress related issues.
