Author Information

Azura Amid received her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology in 2004 from Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom. She received M.Sc. (Molecular Biology) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in 2001 and B.Sc.Ed. degree in Biology (Major) and Mathematic (Minor) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in 1996. She is currently a professor at the International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia. She is a recipient of several Ministry level grants like FRGS, ERGS, eScience, and Techno fund (pre-commercialization grant). Her research interests include halal sciences, food security, recombinant DNA technology, bioprocess, and omics technology for metabolic disorder diseases. She has served as a reviewer of some journal articles of Chemical Engineering Society, Academic Journal Org. and Springer’s journals. She is a committee member of Asian Federation of Biotechnology, Malaysia, and a member of Royal Society of Biology, London.   Amal A. M. Elgharbawy is a notable academic and researcher currently serving as the Assistant Professor and Professional Technologist at the International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Dr. Elgharbawy's educational background is impressive, with a PhD in Engineering specializing in bioprocessing engineering from IIUM (2014-2018), a Master’s degree in Biotechnology Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Biochemistry from King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia, where she achieved First Honor, Dean's List, and an Excellence Award. Additionally, she holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies from IIUM (2021-2023). Dr. Elgharbawy's research interests are multidisciplinary, focusing on green solvents in biological and bioprocessing applications, nanomaterials, enzymology, biochemistry in halal biopharmaceuticals, and halal entrepreneurship.   Walaa Abualsunun is an Assistant Professor renowned for her multidisciplinary expertise in Pharmaceutical Science. Holding a PhD from the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and a PharmD from King Abdul-Aziz University, she boasts a rich academic background. During her doctoral tenure, she spearheaded groundbreaking research, employing in vivo studies on knock out mice alongside a spectrum of laboratory techniques such as RNA and Protein extraction, Q-PCR, western blotting, Elisa, and TransAm assays. Her proficiency extends to data analysis, particularly in Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, utilizing MATLAB computational systems. Dr. Abualsunun's commitment to excellence in both research and teaching renders her an invaluable asset to any academic institution or research endeavor.
