A PhD in Biochemistry from IISc Bangalore was followed up by post-docs at University of Minnesota, USA; MIT, USA; UTC, France; and Lund University, Sweden. He is a fellow of both the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad and INSA, New Delhi. He is currently Series Editor of Foundations and Frontiers in Enzymology (Elsevier).
