She now lives in Harlem, New York with her husband Dwight and homeschools their two youngest children, Soleil and Dwight Jr. Soyini, the original and eldest of the professional sleep fighters is now a former sleep fighter. Shani originally had the aspiration of being an attorney and received her law degree and master's in public policy. She ultimately decided to work within not-for-profit and public service organizations. As a young girl and throughout her career, Shani grew in her love for books and the importance of early literacy. Because of a family tragedy, Shani is passionate about sleep safety and quality for families. She grew up with a love for books and she hopes that this story will inspire safe sleep habits and be a part of sweet sleep-time memories for families.
