These additions to the Stars of Sports series focus on talented athletes whom both kids and adults can look up to. Featuring colorful images as well as deep dives into the careers of these stars, these engaging biographies divide their content into short chapters with fact boxes and topical asides to add additional context to the main text. In Bubba Wallace, readers follow the story and history of this stellar stock-car racer, examining the beginning of his career, how it changed over time, and Wallace's commitment to activism. Baseball fans will gravitate toward Fernando Tatís Jr., which traces the slugger's start as a hopeful baseball player in the Dominican Republic through his memorable achievements beyond the island. Naomi Osaka zooms in on talented tennis player Osaka, who has made it far with her powerful serve; this title offers insight into her challenges and close relationship with her family. Sky Brown introduces readers to a skateboard prodigy from Japan who began competing at age 12 and medaled in the Olympics 8 years later. Each book's back matter includes a time line, glossary, and further-reading recommendations. Perfect for young sports enthusiasts and classrooms, these stories will inspire readers and perk up sports collections.--Aurora Dominguez ""Booklist""
