OverviewThe novel inspired by the standoff at Malheur Wildlife Refuge. Nathan Stuyvesant is an ordinary rancher working hard to make ends meet on his land, which borders the land of an unfriendly government: ours. So when the call goes out for patriots to assemble in a small Montana town, where government abuses are about to spark a modern-day revolution, Nathan goes. And so does Miles. And Hat. And Leda. And Orville and Earl and Tompkins, and 100 other Americans willing to break every law there is... to ensure the rule of law. Together, they might be the last chance America has... if modern America will only wake up and see this is a time for courage, rather than an occasion for mockery and dildos. In Siege of Eagles, the real-life Malheur Wildlife Refuge is mirrored as Hammerbag National Bird Sanctuary, and first-time author Standish Bell McCoy invents a whole new genre in fiction: the Sympathetic Novel. He believes he has invented a new kind of novel that he calls Sympathetic Fiction. Sympathetic Fiction draws inspiration from current events in the real world in order to be true to the feel of them, but McCoy doesn't pose as a reporter or historian. He has a more humble approach. He says, I don't pretend to know everything, so book events will diverge from real-world events. But I always aim to write in sympathy with the people who inspire me, to get the feelings and ideas right even when I'm not going for the actual facts. McCoy writes in present tense so it will feel like the current events he writes about are always going on. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
