She taught at community colleges in Ohio and New York. For 28 years, she and her husband, Bill Wayne, operated a bed and breakfast in her great-grandfather's circa 1867 farmhouse in Warrensburg, Missouri and traveled extensively in the Northeastern and Southwestern United States. Sandra Sue Wayne, also an award-winning photographer, used language to capture moments and feelings like images that are accessible for allages. She died in August 2020 but continues to impact us with her life-inspiring vision of the basic beauty of time and place, love and loss - keen, playful, poignant and ageless.
