Her higher education was short lived when she went to live in Arlington, Virginia during the Viet Nam War. The Hippie craze, the Black Panthers, and the tumultuous times were too much for her at that impressionable age, so she soon returned home to San Antonio, Texas. As a young lady, Laura was searching for some meaning and she soon found it when she came to Christ in the very early 1970's. She married, had two children, divorced, and learned how to raise her children as a single parent by working hard and keeping her faith in God. Laura has always had a love of writing; she keeps a journal always looking back at her life. Shortly after her second marriage to her husband Sonny she became the proud grandmother to her precious Sarah Kay. This book was based on a true story told by her granddaughter and she hopes it will warm the hearts of all who read it to their little ones.
