"Shihan Alan F. D'Allessandro is a highly skilled and versatile martial artist who has risen through the ranks and influenced and mentored his students through a combination of personal dedication to learning, commitment to passing on knowledge, unrelenting training, and the embracing of several styles and philosophies. His respect for many different concepts and willingness to incorporate them into his teaching sets him aside from others who choose not to expand their horizons beyond one style or practice. Shihan Alan is recognized regionally and nationally for his accomplishments in Karate. He is the co-founder of the successful and prestigious New England Karate Academy Inc., (NEKA), which has two locations and a comprehensive and solid reputation and excellence and value. The training and ranking curriculum at NEKA were personally developed and designed by Shihan. He is the creator and founder of the sanctioned and recognized Ken-Ryu Kenpo system. Shihan currently holds a 5th degree black belt in Ken-Ryu Kenpo-Karate and Oki-Ryu Kenpo-Karate, and a 3rd degree black belt in American Kenpo along with a 1st degree black belt in Shaolin Kenpo and Okinawan Karate. He is a certified KRANE (Karate referees association of New England) Center Official and a member of WMAF (World Martial Arts Federation). He has been involved in the training and coaching of several State, National and World Sport Karate champions. He was a 2000 inductee into KATV's (Karate Action Television) ""Hall of Fame"" and is a 2004 inductee into the Ocean State Grand National's ""Hall of Fame"". He is the Director of NEKA self-defense seminars and its aerobic kickboxing program and certification."
