Author Information

Whatt Meng obtained his degree in Psychology in the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has manyyears of experience working with children exhibiting a wide array of learning and behavior difficulties, withmany diagnosed as having autism spectral disorder (ASD). He received training on Early Intensive BehavioralIntervention (EIBI) in Australia and subsequently went to Houston, Texas to receive Relationship DevelopmentIntervention (RDI) training under Dr. Steven Gutstein and Dr. Rachel Sheely. He has presented in Australia,Houston and Singapore and has been invited to participate in interviews by the press in Singapore.Additionally, he has worked with clients from various countries like China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, UnitedStates and Australia. He has also mentored and trained many therapists throughout his career. His interest inchildren with special needs started while he was concentrating on Childhood Psychology and pursued aresearch project on autism and related disorders. The many successful cases he achieve while workingintensively with children with ASD made him a firm believer of early intervention and other comprehensive,experimentally proven therapies. Alex has the ability to harness the confidence and self esteem of thesechildren which in turn enable them to be more receptive to compliance training and regain the ability to learnand progress. Dr Jed Baker, Ph.D. is the director of the Social Skills Training Project, an organization serving individuals withautism and social communication problems. He is on the professional advisory board of ASPEN, ANSWER,YAI, the Kelberman Center, and several other autism organizations. In addition, he writes, lectures, andprovides training internationally on the topic of social skills training and managing challenging behaviors. He isan award winning author of seven books, including Social Skills Training for Children and Adolescents withAsperger’s syndrome and Social Communication Problems; Preparing for Life: The Complete Handbook forthe Transition to Adulthood for Those with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome; The Social Skills Picture Book;The Social Skills Picture Book for High School and Beyond; No More Meltdowns: Positive Strategies forManaging and Preventing Out-of-Control Behavior, and No More Victims: Protecting those with Autism fromCyber Bullying, Internet Predators & Scams. His work has also been featured on ABC World News, Nightline,Fox News, the CBS Early Show, and the Discovery Health Channel.
