I am grateful that there are functional QR codes to hear the pronunciation because I am able to follow along. What's better is that the book virtually takes the student on a tour of various topics such as home living, restaurants, walking on the street, emotions, work and employment, or even personality and character! I appreciate organization, so I was extremely pleased to see that the topics were organized in a methodical way. The words are incorporated into short stories or relatable conversations; then Dr. Molchanova provides vivid photographs with Russian tags that help identify the word. Afterwards, for each mini lesson (topics are organized by sections) there is a quiz that allows the student to write the answer which is great because not only does the book provide audio pronunciation, it also provides space to practice writing in Russian, pure genius. One more thing, the workbook feels sturdy for being a paperback, so it feels snug in your hands, makes it comfortable to learn and study on a desk or couch. At the end of the workbook there are blank pages that I use to write notes from watching her Zero to Fluency YouTube videos. This workbook has it all, thank you Daria. The lessons are presented in a very user friendly format, and the accompanying videos (which are accessed via QR codes that are provided for each section), are incredibly helpful with both comprehension and pronunciation. The combination of visual aids (pics), written exercises, and videos makes this a very effective learning tool. I was delighted with the book, I am very happy I bought it, I like the interaction you have with the book and at the same time with Daria's videos. I would definitely buy it again, 100% recommended. This book is a great complement that can be used with any Russian basic course, or even intermediate level Russian. All 15 chapters do a great job in filling so many of the gaps left behind in most of the elementary courses of Russian. Daria is a great teacher, and a great coach when it comes to both spoken and written language of Russian. Thank you Daria. Keep it up. I wish you many more years of success.
