OverviewWinner of the 2020 Colorado Book Award Rise is collection of prose and poetry exploring the concepts of change, renewal, and rebirth. When things change, we experience a variety of emotions-from anger and fear to courage and hope. There is struggle and strife but also the opportunity to rise from the ashes and create, grow, and love. In these pages, you'll find stories and expressions of joy and sorrow about love, friendship, family, marriage and divorce, loss and grief, the aftermath of natural disaster, and the consequences of our actions, whether momentous or seemingly inconsequential. Change comes to us in many different forms, but we can be inspired by each other to grow in strength, hope, and resilience as together we each face the challenges of change. She has been a freelance editor since 2015-but she's been correcting people's grammar since she was two (ask about the legendary fog vs. mist debate of '92). She earned her MA in the History of Books and is more than happy to gush about ancient Mesopotamian literacy or Victorian fiction magazines. Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Bonnie sees the mountains as home. Lorrie Wolfe is a technical writer and editor living in Windsor, Colorado. She is passionate about volunteers, creating community, and about the power of words to unite and move people. Her poetry has appeared in Earth's Daughters, Progenitor Journal, Tulip Tree Review, Pilgrimage, Pooled Ink, and others. Her chapbook, Holding: from Shtetl to Santa, was published by Green Fuse Press in 2013. She edited and contributed to the 2017 anthologies Mountains, Myths & Memories and Going Deeper. Lorrie was named Poet of the Year at Denver's Ziggie's Poetry Festival for 2014-15. Amy Rivers is the director of the Northern Colorado Writers. She is the author of three novels-her most recent an award-winning psychological suspense novel, All The Broken People. Her short works have been published in several anthologies including We Got This: Solo Mom Stories of Grit, Heart, and Humor, Flash!, and Chicken Soup for the Soul. She has degrees in psychology, political science, and forensic criminology; a few of her favorite topics to write about. She lives in Boulder, Colorado.
