Findings include: world output grew in 2000 by four per cent over the previous year, the highest in a decade, although it is expected to drop in 2001; world seaborne trade recorded its 15th consecutive increase in 2000, reaching a record high of 5.88 billion tons; and global maritime trade growth is expected to decline to two per cent in 2001.
