Dr Richard Baines is Senior Lecturer in International Rural Development and Agri-Food Systems at the internationally-renowned Royal Agricultural University in the UK. Dr Baines has worked with international bodies such as the FAO, national governments and NGOs on the environmental assessment and improvement of crop and livestock production. Dr Baines has also developed environmental standards for the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Institute which are widely used across the agricultural, food processing and retail sectors. Professor Deli Chen is the discipline leader in the Soil and the Environment Research Group, School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences, The University of Melbourne, Director of ARC Research Hub for Smart Fertilisers, and Director of the Australia China Joint Research Centre, Healthy Soils for Sustainable Food Production and Environmental Quality. He has expertise in water and nutrient dynamics in plant-soil systems, GIS based agroecosystem modelling and decision support systems for optimal irrigation and fertilizer management, and the measures, models and mitigates greenhouse gas emissions from land sources, enhanced efficiency N fertilizers, agricultural ‘big data’ and sustainable indices. Yvette de Haas is a senior researcher at Wageningen University and Research in the Animal Breeding and Genomics group. Her area of expertise is in precision phenotyping, where she aims to record new traits on individual animals housed in groups. Reducing the environmental impact of livestock is one of her main focus areas. Professor (UZ) Dr Barbara Amon is an Associate Professor for Environmental Engineering and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Zielona Góra, Poland and a Senior Research Scientist and Board Representative for Research at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB), Germany. Professor Amon sits on many panels, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), UNECE, UNEP and the FAO LEAP Partnership.
