Overview"English summary: The Tosefta treatise on the Sabbath opens the Seder Moed and deals with the prohibitions against work on the seventh day. As in the correspondent Mishnah text, but including other emphases, the Tosefta treatise considers questions concerning movement between different areas, about the Sabbath lamp and stove, and about the minimums and maximums of activities a person may do or be obligated to do. Later, for example, if a person is permitted to run from a fire or just ""move away from."" Going beyond the recommendations in the Mishnah, one can find in the Tosefta a brief mention of the Amorite customs, which means prohibited magical practices, being given broad consideration. Also, when it comes to questions about saving lives and the legitimacy of the healing remedies on the Sabbath, the Tosefta treatise on the Sabbath offers a lengthy discourse on the subject.
