Overview

This reference work presents an overview which systematically describes the seven major lithotechtonic elements of the Iberian Massif in terms of stratigraphy, palaeontology, sedimentology, structural geology, igneous activity, metamorphic evolution, metallogenesis and tectonic significance. The data is then assembled into coherent summaries of the overall geodynamic evolution of the Massif, whose role within the circum-Atlantic orogenic realm is evaluated. It is hoped that the text will provide an understanding of the evolution of Hercynian areas in Europe, and their connection to the African and North American continents.
