OverviewInvestments in transport, especially the road transport sector has received a lot of attention in Ghana's economic development agenda even though empirical evidence concerning the impact of road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance projects have raised questions about the direct rate of returns from such investments without other complementary policies, programmes and projects. The popularity of the road transport sector in the country as an agent of growth and change is evident from the primacy its investments command in most government portfolios.
