This book describes how the elites use our social institutions and ideology to manipulate the public for their own gain. With the advent of modern technology and surveillance, the potential for an elite coterie on a global scale with pervasive controls have never been greater. The author's emphasis is on how they shape our reality perceptions and divisions, The ladder portions discuss the methods we can use to push back on this concentration of power. It is clear our politics are shaped by those with vested financial interest along with those who love to fight, for its own end. While our politics is largely emotional in content the superstructure is controlled by financial instruments. This means the emotional voices that are beneficial to those in power are amplified. It also means that positions are situational. Just like a board game the individual players have divergent interest in any given move. The collective group of Elites arrange society into polarities to make them more manageable. Their game consist of moving the pieces within the polarities. This book is an overview on how and why they form these polarities and what we can do about it.
