The book is a different & child-friendly approach for kids to learn from. Very creative, that's why I ordered two! - Susan Saint-Joy Our son is 7 and learning how manners can create positive interactions versus negative outcomes. This book gives him the WHY on using manners. The artwork is adorable! We are witnessing our son suddenly using the magic words please and thank you more and more! Even asking for permission! (Shock and awe!) I highly recommend this book for your little ones! -Carly Reid The title alone had my attention immediately, from a very young age, I was taught that having manners were very important. The book was well written, the characters were realistic. I like the fact that the conversations with the kids were all positive and thought provoking. Words like scholars to describe the kids was a great take on adults respecting the power of words and names given to kids. I read this book with excitement and nostalgia because the interactions with the teacher, Ms. Charles, took me back to my 3rd-grade teacher, Ms. Young. She was well spoken and she guided the class with respect. We all loved her because she taught with a gentle hand and care. This book is geared toward kids, however, I was able to learn a few things myself. One of the quotes that stood out was, Communicating properly involves acting properly . That within itself was powerful and spoke volumes of the overall book. As adults, we can forget that the tone of our voices and facial expressions can come across as disrespectful which will make a situation for all parties difficult. Everyone will benefit from reading this book. There are many adults that can learn how to respect themselves and others by reading this book. This book is needed! -Tammy Terrell Your character development is lovely to watch. You explain etiquette and manners in a fun and engaging way. Your use of storytelling is intriguing and entertaining. You overcame every objection the reader could have about how implementing the lessons would be difficult or if it's really worth the work through the student's dialogues and actions. This is a wonderful and practical guide that is invaluable for children learning manners for the first time and a fantastic refresher for adults. I love how you set up the story with each lesson followed by scenarios where the children get to put into practice what they've learned. Beautifully done. Please and Thank You Are Magic Words is a must-read for learning how to speak and interact with others in the classroom, at work, in social settings, and at home - bravo!! -Jamie Caroccio Author InformationAmarimba L.
