Lynn Eschenbacher, PharmD, MBA, FASHP, is the National Director of Pharmacy Operations and residency program director for the second year corporate pharmacy administration residency for The Resource Group, a subsidiary of Ascension. Previously she was the Assistant Director of Clinical Services and director of the first year residency program in the Department of Pharmacy at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina. In current and previous roles, she has been responsible for developing and implementing pharmacy services to advance the profession of pharmacy, positively impact patient outcomes and demonstrate the value of pharmacy. After obtaining a BS in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, she attended the University of Texas at Austin to obtain her PharmD. She then completed a pharmacy practice residency at Parkland Health & Hospitals in Dallas, Texas. Lynn worked at Duke University Hospital as a clinical pharmacist, clinical coordinator, and the medication safety officer. Additionally, she completed her MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University with a focus in Health Sector Management. Dr. Eschenbacher is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has received the Circle of Excellence award at WakeMed for Market Development and Quality Outcomes. Lynn was a faculty advisor for the New Jersey Hospital Association Hospital Engagement Network Partnership for Patients. She was one of the ASHP House of Delegates representatives for the Acute Care Forum in North Carolina, a past-chair of the ASHP Section Advisory Group for Medication Safety and past-chair for the ASHP Section for Inpatient Care Practitioners. Dr. Eschenbacher was one of the 2015 ASHP Distinguished Service Awardees. Dr. Eschenbacher has presented nationally on performance improvement, medication safety, development of pharmacist and pharmacy technician competency, and the value of pharmacy.
