OverviewThe present book offers a collection of diverse studies on natural resources management for the benefit of society. Some of these studies include (i) effect of watershed management both on productivity and natural resources in climate change scenario; (ii) scope for additional productive potential through agro-ecosystem approach; (iii) role of integrated remote sensing and geographic information system for watershed monitoring and management; (iv) effectivity of bio-industrial watershed model for sustainable production; (v) agroforestry as an effective and potential tool for watershed management; (vi) utilization of geographic landscape to enhance income; (vii) trade-offs between livelihoods and natural resources; (viii) livestock-based diversification for sustainability; and (ix) engineering measures for the soil and water conservation for a wide range of ecosystems. This book addresses various issues across different disciplines as well as the incorporation of technological advancements, such as remote sensing, GIS, etc., into watershed management strategies. This book will be useful for practitioners, academicians, researchers, policymakers, field-level watershed workers, students, water resources managers and environmentalists.
