Like many who spent the majority of their adult life in pastoral ministry, I logged in countless hours in counseling, working people through the damage that life's events had in their life. I discovered that sometimes one's perceived reality may not be one's actual reality. Because of blind spots and filters, sometimes it is one's interpretation of life's events and environments that create their perception. You are not shaped by your environment as much as you are by your perception of your environment.
