Overview

Pennywinkles and Mimosa is a haunting collection of predictions, dramas, and after-thoughts. Readers will relate as the author reveals an assortment of literary expressive works: bittersweet, funny, frightening, spiritual-poems and stories stirred by a lifetime of experiences. She confesses challenges for exposure at the risk of being misunderstood though hopefully loved. From childhood to senior years, Berry shares these familiar whispers with you. Beautifully bound, it makes a unique and timeless gift. Dianne Berry writes, Poetry is the song of thought and life, so her writings have become sacred, personal scripture, a psalter for her posterity, a living testament for future generations. From the mundane to the profound, through all the pain and sorrow and in the smiles of hope and love, plaintive cries and laments to God, and hymns to Life itself, Dianne Berry has painted word pictures from the palette of her life. From the springtime of youthful play and dance, scarecrows to honey bees, the subtle joy of coffeehouses to the ache of an empty nest, old age and death - to new life! Berry reveals that she is a poetic pilgrim on her way to her true homeland where the final word is the Word of Life writ large. - the Publisher

Author Information

M. Dianne Berry has been writing since she was 9 years old. Although her first love is poetry and is internationally published, she's always loved great stories, true or made up. Her father was a WWII veteran and teacher who mentored her in character development while her mother was a professional USO singer whose training helped build Dianne's 17 year musical career. She is the author of two books: McMullan's Cellar, Things Happen . . . When Women Dream and co-author of many anthologies and reviewer for many other writers. During a two year tenure as an officer of Midwest Writers Guild, she spent more time helping others meet their writing goals. Dianne is a wife, mother, grandmother, loves to cook, write, play the guitar, and scare people who endlessly talk politics.
