"Peace Is a Pelican takes the reader on a journey of discovery and meditation through multiple images of nature. The poet recognizes omens in birds and relishes the connection to all living things as a means of finding peace and solace. From descending a raging river to counting stone with a child, from loss of a loved one to digging in the soil, the poet seeks to share the wonder of her world. Louise Moises is a well-known poet in the San Francisco Bay Area, a frequent reader at Benicia Poets, Alameda Island Poets, Coastside Poets, Sacred Grounds and Rivertown poets. She is a board member of the Ina Coolbrith Circle, the oldest poetry association in the state of California and a member of Bay Area Poets Coalition. Her poems appear in the Suisun Valley Review, Carquinez Review, Nooks and Crannies, Benicia First Tuesdays, California Poetry Society, The Avocet, et.al.
